AMC Listed as the Key Cultivation College for Bilingual Education
Asia Management College (AMC) was selected as one of the key cultivation colleges in MOE’s Program on Bilingual Education for Students in College (BEST) , as MOE announced the list on Sept. 2, 2021. Asia University will receive a sum of NT$. 8,470,000 for the first year and a total of NT$. 47,850,000 for five consecutive years. To strengthen the competitiveness of the nation in this age of globalization, the Ministry of Education aims to restructure Taiwan as a bilingual nation by 2030. AU Advances in World University Rankings
The 2021 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) was released by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy on August 15. This year, more than 2000 institutions were carefully examined, and the best 1000 universities in the world are published. Asia University is ranked No. 805, which stands as the top 10th among 160 universities, both public and private, in Taiwan. Times Higher Education (THE) also released its list of “2022 World University Rankings” on September 2 and Asia University is ranked No. 586 among 1000 universities globally. AU Presents Three Products in 2021 BioAsia-Taiwan Exhibition
Dr. Min-Min Lee, chairman of the Department of Food Nutrition and Health Biotechnology, together with her team members Cheng-Yuan Lin and Sheng-Hsiung Huang, presented three new skincare products in 2021 BioAsia-Taiwan Exhibition, Taipei, from July 19 to July 28. They used tremella mushroom as the base material and invented a special kind of wound dressing which contains “mushroom component delivery applications by thermal feeling needleless electrospinning-nanofiber membrane.” The other two skincare products, according to Dr. Min-Min Lee, are a new patented technology with a microencapsulated structure which contains “compound essential oils with a special combination formula to promote wound healing” …

AU Published a New Book Innovation and Sustainability: Asia University SDG’s Stories in Wufeng
To celebrate AU’s 20th anniversary, Dr. Jeffrey J. P. Tsai, President of Asia University, called together faculty members and students in a collective effort to publish a book entitled Innovation and Sustainability: Asia University SDG’s Stories in Wufeng, which includes 21 stories based upon the social service ideal of global connection and local care. President Tsai shared his own experiences in building houses for the homeless and underprivileged people while studying as a graduate student in the USA. AU Recognized as a Famous University of Design Study
In 2012, Chair professor Lin Pansong from the Department of Visual Communication Design brought to Asia University two MOE’s projects: “Award Incentive Program for Encouraging University / College Students to Participate in International Art and Design Contests-Project IDC” and “Taiwan Design Competition for International Students”.. AU Received 103 Research Grants for College Students
Asia University received a total of 103 research grants from Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), ranked No.7 among 160 universities in Taiwan, in its application for “Research Grants for College Students” this year. In terms of project number by per professor, AU’s ratio is 0.29, ranked No.1 in all Taiwan universities. In seven consecutive years, Asia University has won over one hundred research grants for professors to upgrade and renovate their curricula and improve the teaching and learning environment in general. The Times Higher Education just released this year’s list of the best universities in the Young University Rankings on June 24, and AU ranked No. 191 among 475 universities globally, and No. 3 in Taiwan. The universities are judged across all their core missions: teaching; research; knowledge transfer; and international outlook – to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available. AU Students Won Winners in 2021 DNA Paris Design Awards
Two Asia University students from the Department of Interior Design won Winners in 2021 DNA Paris Design Awards announced on June 21. Yu-hsiang Lin won a Winner in the category of “Renovation” with his work, “Zen Art Gallery,” and Yun-jui Liang won another Winner in the category of “Retail” with his work, “RUNI Flower.” Hong Ren Wang, also from the Department of Interior Design received an “Honorary Mention” with his work, “Mobile City” in the category of “Retail.” Yu-hsiang Lin said that his idea of “Zen Art Gallery” came from an architecture tour to Japan during his junior year. AU Held its 2021 Commencement Online
AU held its 2021 commencement online on June 5. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the graduates could not come to the campus to attend the ceremony in person. However, most students attended the ceremony online to celebrate this great event in their lives. Ms. Shiou-Yen Lu, mayor of Taichung City, also sent her video message to all the graduates in the ceremony.
