The 2021 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) was released by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy on August 15. This year, more than 2000 institutions were carefully examined, and the best 1000 universities in the world are published. Asia University is ranked No. 805, which stands as the top 10th among 160 universities, both public and private, in Taiwan.
Times Higher Education (THE) also released its list of “2022 World University Rankings” on September 2 and Asia University is ranked No. 586 among 1000 universities globally. AU distinguishes itself as No. 6th among all the universities in Taiwan.
President Jeffrey J. P. Tsai mentions that ARWU is recognized as preeminent among global university ranking systems and the most trustworthy one which presents “the world’s top 1000 research universities annually based on transparent methodology and objective third-party data.” And Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE) is another celebrated ranking system which includes more than 1600 universities across 99 countries this year and is the largest to date. THE measures an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. AU’s continuous effort and outstanding performance are greatly acknowledged by both ranking systems. This encouragement boosts AU to strive forward with reinvigorated determination to transform itself into an internationally renowned comprehensive university in the near future.
