Happy 2022! Warm Greetings from San Francisco State University!

We are pleased to report that SF State has kicked off Spring 2022 well and we are very excited to welcome many students to our campus.  While the global COVID pandemic remains to be a concern around the world, we want to assure you that SF State is closely monitoring the situation and following all necessary federal, state, and local health guidelines to ensure we can deliver a safe campus environment in Spring.  All students are doing well and have enjoyed their academic life thus far at campus! We greatly appreciate your continuing support and confidence in SF State!



Academic Semester Programs

Visiting Student Program - https://cel.sfsu.edu/semester
We are accepting Semester @ SF State nominations from university partners worldwide from February 1 to May 15  for Fall 2022 term.  Students can choose from a wide variety of classes in over 100 different disciplines such as business, engineering, sciences, humanities, liberal arts, etc., and many more on a space-available basis.  All academic credits earned can transfer back to home institutions. Kindly note we have waived the $100 application fee permanently for university partner students who wish to attend this program. 

Nomination Deadline: May 1, 2022. Final Application Deadline: May 15, 2022 (application link will be emailed to students upon confirming nomination)

Certificate Program – https://cel.sfsu.edu/arts
The brand new Liberal and Creative Arts certificate program will offer students great opportunities to tap into a wide range of liberal and creative arts courses such as Arts, Cinema, Communication, Design, Digital Media,  Humanities, International Studies, Political Science, etc. Many of these courses are also general education courses, students gain broad exposure to the humanities, arts, and social sciences. Students may enroll in this certificate as a gap year, study abroad program, or standalone certificate or to complement their undergraduate studies. Students will earn credits they can transfer back to their home universities or apply to future study. Semester option is available.

The Hospitality & Tourism Management program provides a time-efficient, comprehensive experience that allows students to obtain professional skills in managing resources, multicultural cooperation, and other realities of globalization so they can excel in the hospitality industry. Courses focus on key areas – such as business operations, food service and human resources – and explore these within various cultural contexts. Additionally, experienced faculty equips students with strategies for success and provides needed assistance for internship or employment opportunities.  Students complete the full program qualify for optional practical training. Semester option is available.

This program is designed to offer international students the opportunity to acquire competencies in international business in two semesters. The I-BUS program provides a time-efficient, comprehensive experience to keep students competitive in today’s workforce. Students will acquire proficiency in fundamental areas (such as leadership, management, and negotiation) and examine these skills within a global context. Students who complete the full program qualify for optional practical training. Semester option is available.

This program is designed to give students a broad foundation in business administration. Taking courses in accounting, business communication, statistics, operations management, finance, information systems, management, and marketing, graduates will be prepared to enroll in an MBA or accelerated MBA or launch a career in business. Through SF State activities, students will have opportunities to experience innovation firsthand and network with entrepreneurs, founders, innovators and more.  Students who complete the full program qualify for optional practical training. Semester option is available.
Note: This program is the same as Pre-MBA program for students from official partner universities. Partner university students can fulfill the one-year program requirement to obtain admission into a fast-track MBA.
