A total of 14 students from Asia University (AU), Taiwan, have obtained the international certification awarded by NVIDIA before graduation. They have become elite forces in the field of AI research and development, thereby surpassing their peers in the workplace, as the certification boosts employability!
Professor Ching-Hsien Hsu, Dean of the College of Information and Electrical Engineering, stated that the courses offered by the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) are established by the globally renowned technology company NVIDIA. These courses are allowed to be offered exclusively by institutions and instructors who have been certified by NVIDIA. LEADTEK Research Inc is an institution in Taiwan that collaborates with NVIDIA to offer DLI certification courses. There are a total of 8 courses available, and Asia University has currently chosen one of them, which is "Fundamental Principles of CUDA Python Accelerated Computing." CUDA is a parallel computing platform and programming model developed by NVIDIA. It is used to accelerate applications that require high-speed computation. Utilizing GPUs to enhance computational performance has become a mainstream practice in the industry. This course will guide students through hands-on experience in using Numba, a specialized type of Python function compiler, to accelerate the execution of Python programs on large-scale parallel NVIDIA GPUs. Professor Chun-Yuan Lin, from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, explained that there are many reasons to choose this course for Asia University students. AI deep learning is one of the highest profiles and most rapidly evolving technologies in the field today. Learning the fundamental principles of CUDA Python accelerated computing will enable students to gain broader application capabilities in data processing and data analysis in this field. Obtaining the NVIDIA DLI international certification allows students to receive international recognition, providing them with a competitive advantage in the job market. This certification will enhance their employability and offer them greater opportunities in the industry. Fourteen students so far have successfully obtained the NVIDIA DLI international certification of the first phase of the course. Mr. Lin, a senior student, mentioned that the instructor patiently teaches and provides detailed explanations in response to questions, enabling even non-computer science students to quickly grasp the concepts. Through the course, students can discover the joy of programming and develop their skills in a supportive environment.
